Nvidia ha annunciato di voler rilasciare il Tegra 2 nel prossimo anno.
Almeno questa è in sostanza la dichiarazione di Hara di Nvidia. Il nuovo prodotto verrà presentato al CES di Gennaio 2010.
Infatti le parole di Hara, senior VP of Investor Relations and Communications, non lasciano dubbi:
At CES we are going to make a major announcement about Tegra family. It is highly possible that we will see some very interesting form-factors coming out at the same time… You are going to see roll-outs and deployments of tablet PCs, smartbooks, netbooks, MIDs throughout the first half and then you will see major roll-outs of smartphones in the second half (of 2010)
Il nuovo Tegra dovrebbe garantire prestazioni superiori al suo predecessore; infatti, grazie alla disponiblità di memorie più veloci e il processo da 40nm, il prodotto non dovrebbe temere la concorrenza.
