Larrabee, Intel non ammette la fine

Intel, ufficialmente non ammette al fine di Larrabee ma, secondo le sue indicazioni, afferma che il progetto rimane vivo e vegeto.

Intel, il colosso USA, ha utilizzato il termine “redeployment”. Infatti, secondo la dichiarazione

We (Intel) do not anticipate any redeployments as a result of this announcement. Intel is quite official that it won’t cut the big pieces of team and trash the graphics effort, they will continue.

Sarà! Sicuramente ammettere il fallimento della linea GPU su Larrabee non è così facile, ma perseverare è diabolico!

Inoltre, secondo Intel

Larrabee silicon and software development are behind where we had hoped to be at this point in the project. As a result, our first Larrabee product will not be launched as a standalone discrete graphics product, but rather be used as a software development platform for internal and external use.

Sembra proprio che Intel non voglia scrivere la parola fine su Larrabee GPU.

Non ci rimane altro che aspettare i nuovi prodotti di AMD e Nvidia e vedere le iniziative di Intel.
